Living the crazy life that God has given me!

“Empowering people”

serving, people, one, hard work,

We are working to Serve One

As we go through the “I Love My Church” series at Elevation this month we are going through the different areas that we believe are important for the people that make up this church. One of those areas is “Empowering people to serve with passion and focus.”  We know that as followers of Jesus and the people of his church we are called and directed to serve those that are around us. We don’t because we have to but because we want too, especially because Jesus set the example.

Mark 10:45 (NLT) 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

So what does it look like to Serve ONE:

  • Serve One is Relationship – we serve because of our relationship with Jesus, ultimately its about serving him. Its also because of the relationships that we have with people in our lives.
  • Serve One is about Health & Hard work – we serve because it enables us to become healthy spiritually, physically, and relationally.  We also know that serving is hard work and it is something that is going to challenge us. When you serve people the hard work comes from serving the people around you the way that they need to be served not necessarily the way you want too.
  • Serve One is Focus – we want to be a church team that serves because we have focus together and individually.  We focus our efforts together in what we do as a church every week. We also want people to focus on the way that they are created, gifted, and passionate.

We are excited as a church team and family to “Empower people so they can serve with passion and focus.”  We are going to be continuing the conversation about “Why should I love the church today?” this week at Elevation.
