Hope of the World
The more that I talk with people the more I hear about their hurt and pain. That people today are looking for something to put their hope in. That they are really searching to find a comfort when it comes to these hurts and pains. Some people try to find hope in drugs, alcohol, relationships, sex, even watching their favorite sports teams. The tough part for me is that people don’t feel like that they are able to put their hope in Jesus.
Why do people feel like they can’t put their hope in Jesus? Well as far as I can tell it is because they have encountered an individual that was suppose to be leading them to Jesus but instead of receiving hope got hurt. That because they went to a place where they were looking to receive hope from Jesus but just received judgmental stares. That because they heard Jesus’ people were suppose to be able to accept them where they were but instead were told to fix themselves not let His spirit do the work. That because of those things they have felt that there is no hope.
Proverbs 13:12 (NLT) Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy.
Look around at the people in your communities don’t you think they look heart sick. Don’t you think that is what is leading to some broken relationships? Don’t you think that is what people are looking for, hope?
Matthew 12:20-21 (NLT) He will not crush those who are weak, or quench the smallest hope, until he brings full justice with his final victory. And his name will be the hope of all the world.”
May we this week encourage more hope in the world by telling people about Jesus and letting them experience His saving grace and mercy.
Romans 15:13 (NLT) So I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in him. May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Just want you to know that there is Hope and His name is Jesus.
Ephes. 4:15 (NLT) Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
I pray that we his church everyday become more and more like Christ so that the rest of the world will see hope in us because of who He is in us. That we will be the conduit of hope to people that feel so hopeless. What are you doing this week to share the hope of Christ to those around you?
