Reflections on Sunday

Yesterday was the last Sunday that we as the Bloyer family would be serving at Northgate Christian Fellowship.  It was very bittersweet.  We have been so blessed to have been a part of this church for the last two and a half years both as a staff member and as a church member.  Through all this time we have been able to see God do amazing things.  Students not just attending at a church but leading and serving in the church.  Students that have taken steps of faith with Jesus with over thirty of them getting baptized.  Parents recognizing the need to be the spiritual leaders in the lives of their kids.  Fathers dedicating to restore the relationships that have with their kids and their wives.

It is amazing to me that I am amazed at what God does.  But this is what God does the amazing! So I thank God and the people of Northgate for allowing us to be a part of something amazing.  I know that even now God is preparing the church and it’s people to do something even more amazing then we have been a part of in the last two years.  It has been my pleasure to serve with the staff of Northgate and watch their blood sweat and tears when it comes to not just talking about church but being the church.

I personally want to thank Pastor Ken Jensen for his support and leadership as we have walked through the last two years.  I also have been blessed with his encouragement as we embark on this journey into starting a church.  Much like he did nineteen years ago in his living room.  I have appreciated his care and concern for our family and the church that God is bringing together in Colorado.

As we leave to start a new journey in Colorado we take with us the friends and family that God has placed in our hearts and lives from Northgate.  Thank you Northgate we love you.

What will Elevation value?

We are so excited about the things that God is doing already in Elevation Community Church that we are already beginning to celebrate the wins in the areas that we see are of value to this church.  But for you are to be able to celebrate along with us I want you to see the things that we feel that God has shown us are important and that we are to value.

EvErything is covered in prayer (Before, During, & After)

Everyone’s weLcome, nobody’s perfect, anything is possible

LivE worship & relevant biblical teaching are a catalyst for life change

Everyone is inValuable & irreplaceable in community

SacrificiAl living means you cannot out give or out do God

Together we have fun while serving our communitites

EverythIng is an experiment (Change is constant)

EveryOne needs to grow (leadership development)

         ONe church, many locations (Multi-site)

Over the next couple of days, weeks, and months we are going to take the time to go through each one of the areas of values so that everyone can understand how God has put this together.  I do want to thank the different leaders that have had a hand in all of the preparation that goes into what we have here now.  Pete Wilson, Scott Hodge, Mark Batterson, Ken Jensen, Tad Grandstaff, and Thom Ranier.  With out the phone conversations, the talks, the books, and encouragement we would not be at the place we are today as we move closer and closer to launching Elevation Community Church.

Life’s Chain of Events

I don’t know why but today I have really been taking a mental inventory of the men and women that God has used to be influential in my life.  These are people that through out my life that God has used to add another link in the chain of events that have made me who I am today.  Some of them may or may not even know how God has used them but to me I really see them as the hands and feet of the Lord.  They have either helped me along, pushed me, kicked me in the butt, or have been an ear to vent too.  So for me I wanted to be able to take the time to name some of them, some are gone, some are living, some are near and some are far.  All I know is that I thank God for each one of them and the amazing way that they have been a part of my life in word or in deed.  So this is my list of names that have been used by God in my life:

Phil Bloyer, Nancy Bloyer, Pastor Fredrichs, Skinny Knapp, Harry Munson, Peter Fredrich, Jim Brooks, Meerle Steele, Mike Hiller, Jim Evans, Greg Meeker, Charles and Margie Kellim, James and Rachel Preston, The Boys at Union Hill Baptist Church, Nathan Lawson, The Staff at Riverside Hospital, Thelma Murray, Rick Richardson, Randy Sanders, Jerry and Becky Coon, Todd and Joe Stevenson, Matt Coon, Ted and Jody Herzog, Shawn and Candice Kelly, Josh Reinke, Chris Hallock, Phil Newby, The Elders at Grace Bible Church – Miles City, Bill Robbins, Ty Blaus, Marcus Boykins, Matt McMann, Dan and Joy Bethel, Nathan Maples, Joe Hunsaker, Kevin Carlson, Jason Olcott, Pastor Jay of I.C.M.C., Warren C. Bloyer (Your words from the past), Mike Yaconelli, Mark Batterson, Pete Wilson, Ric Small, Ken Jensen, Brian Logue, Kurt Baughn, Sammy Verbis, My awesome kids – Danielle Bloyer, Tyler Bloyer, Morgan Bloyer, With out a doubt my brothers and sister, I have to close with my wife Michelle L. Bloyer. (She is the best thing that the Lord has loaned to me)

Lord may I continue to remember the names of people that you have used to build into me ,I know that there are names that should be on here that either I have forgotten or have yet to be brought to this place.

Maybe this is something that you need to do is take an inventory of the men and women that have made a difference in your life.  Maybe you need to contact them and let them know the difference that they have made.  Maybe you need to realize that you are someone that God is going to use in the lives of those around you.  Whose list will you show up on?  Will you show up on anyone’s list?  Take the time to thank the Lord for those that He has used to lead you closer to Him.

Who is on you list – make a short one today.
