My Story . . .

I am a husband, father, pastor, and coach.  This is my way of talking through life and this is where I get the name for this place . . .

My name is Scott Bloyer I have a tattoo that says “Psycho for Jesus”.  When I was 18  I got the tattoo playing on college football team. They gave me the nick name and I had “Psycho” tattooed on my arm.  But at 21 I decided that I could not live my life the way I was anymore and I dedicated myself to becoming of follower of Jesus Christ.  Then at 22 married the most awesome women in the world Michelle and that is where the adventure really got going!  I then experienced God’s call on my life to be a youth pastor, I really had no idea what God was thinking, I was the furthest thing from a pastor.  But when God calls you either go after it or you don’t, I CHOSE follow God.  It was as a youth pastor that I had one of the lead pastors that I was serving with encourage me to change the tattoo on my arm.  He said “Why not tell people who you are now.”  So after much prayer, conversation, and talking with my wife I added to “Psycho” the “for Jesus”.

I am crazy about the God who would send His son to die for me so that I might have a new adventurous life. I am crazy about the God who let’s me experience just a glimpse of his amazing love through the eyes of my wife Michelle. I am crazy about the God who has loaned to me three awesome kids Danielle, Tyler, and Morgan.  I am crazy about the God let’s me do what I do for a job and I love every minute of it.  I would have to say that I am “Psycho for Jesus” and that leads to a lot of new and different things in my life, so let’s chase after the life that we have in Christ.

Today I prepare to be the Lead Pastor of Elevation Christian Church in Aurora, CO.

  1. Scott – Very cool site. I look forward to reading more about what you’re doing, the lives you’re reaching and what God is doing with you and your family.

    God Bless you my friend,

  2. Scott,

I so enjoy listening to your sermons. The humor and the simple way you put things helps me remember through the week what you said on Sunday. Your sermon last weekend was one of the best I have heard in a long time. You are truly blessed by God. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Cheryl ….. I don’t have to work this weekend, so I will leave the patrol car at work.

    :-)

  3. Scott!
You are an amazing guy who really taught me alot this weekend at “Anchored” Wintercamp.
    I thank you for everything!
    :)

  4. I just began to follow you on twitter, for a few different reasons. First of all, I was born a Bloyer and I know that somewhere along the line we are related because there just aren’t that many of us out there! My Bloyers are from TX and to my knowledge died off when my cousin, Lester Bloyer, decided to end his life. That’s a whole other story in and of itself. The other thing that caught my attention is your name “psycho4jesus” because I, too, am a child of the living God and love to serve Him!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to say hello and see if we could figure out how we’re related other than brother/sister in Christ! :)

  5. Melissa, I am with you if you have the name Bloyer then we are related some way my dad is from the Bloyers in Iowa. My grandfather was Warren Bloyer. Where are you living now because I have a brother that is in OK, family in CO, and there are other Bloyers in Wisconsin. If you look there is actually a Bloyer Air Field in that state which is way cool. Let me know who your grandfather was and I might be able to figure it out I have a family tree that dates back to the 40’s and 50’s who knows. It is great that you and are family in both ways, Warren Bloyer was a pastor I have some of his books. I will look forward to talking to you more and seeing how we are family.
